Freshman Learning Community students display flip cameras to be used for class assignments

In Fall 2010, Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) launched a new technology initiative with the Freshman Learning Community (FLC). Students have the opportunity to increasing their learning through technology. FLC instructors will monitor, both, how the device affects students' learning and how it impacts their academic success.

This collaboration initiative between IS&T and the Freshman Learning Community will include many opportunities, including:

• Valuable insight into the research benefits of the flip camera and iPad in the classroom
• Hands on opportunity to apply pedagogy with new technology tools

• Integration of specific applications and web based tools
