Daylight Saving Time (DST) and Electronic Calendars
PLEASE NOTE: If you already updated your computer(s) with the Microsoft Patch in the spring, you do NOT need to reinstall it and can disregard this notice.
Daylight Saving Time in the U.S. and Canada has been extended by three weeks in the spring and one week in the fall. This may affect some messages sent out by GroupWise or any other collaboration email system. Appointments and other scheduled events sent out before workstations received the updated DST time zone changes may be off by one hour during the period from March 11-31 and also from October 28 to November 4.
This information discusses three important action items regarding this change in the DST start and end date:
1) You need to apply a patch to your Windows computer.
2) Your electronic calendar may be impacted by the change in the DST start date; and
3) GroupWise users must change their "Work Schedule Start and End Times".
We recommend that you print these pages as a reference as you take the necessary actions.
** Please note these same actions should also be performed on any laptops or home PCs. **
