Technical Support Services

Technical Support Services is in the business of providing IT customer service and product support to faculty, staff and students campus-wide. Assistance is offered through the IS&T Help Center and various IS&T supported labs. Technical Support Services adds value to the organization by serving as the front-line contact for our customers.

The Technical Support Services unit encompasses:

  • Access and List Administration including administering accounts, passwords, access rights, and maintaining user lists for customers, or providing access to IS&T-owned lists.
  • Change Facilitation and Communication including maintaining pre-approved change lists, coordinating multiple asset owners where changes are inter-related, ensuring timely communication of changes, and publishing forward the schedule of change.
  • Support Services including answering usage questions, diagnosing problems, resolving and brokering repairs, brokering catalog items, providing university telephone operators, directory assistance, and call-out service.
  • Technician Services including installing, de-installing, operating, diagnosing, and repairing IT equipment and technology.
  • Testing Services including conducting quality assessments against requirements for software and documentation as well as performing integration testing.
