Learn about anti-spam on campus

Did you know that Georgia State receives up to 400,000 unsolicited e-mails, better known as spam, each day? On a "slow day" the university receives at least 100,000 e-mails of spam. This means that spammers are targeting colleges and universities in an unprecedented way.

Georgia State takes aggressive measures to prevent spam through its spam quarantine system called ProofPoint. This quarantine filters out any e-mail that appears to be spam. Since there is no fool-proof method to prevent all spam, it is important to stay abreast of new information and trends about spam on campus.

Below is a look at Georgia State's overall spam level. For one month, the variance in the amount of spam from received from lowest to highest is 300,000.
