Distribute a Critical Time-Sensitive ("Send Now") System-Wide E-mail Message

Distribute a Critical Time-Sensitive System-Wide Message to all University Faculty and Staff

  1. Draft an email message:
    • Address the message to help@gsu.edu
    • Use a subject that is appropriate to the message.
    • In the first line of the message, type SEND NOW.
    • In the second line of the message, type FACULTY/STAFF
    • Include a name and contact number in case there are questions about the content of the message (if appropriate).
  2. Send the message to the appropriate office (President, Provost, Vice President, or Director of University Relations) requesting that the message be approved, and then forwarded to the Help Center.
  3. Follow-up with a call to the Help Center (404) 413-HELP (4357), to inform them that an email for immediate distribution has been sent, and to confirm that it has been received and is being processed.

    • In the second line of the message, type STUDENTS
    • Include a name and contact number in case there are questions about the content of the message (if appropriate).
  2. Send the message to the Vice President for Student Services, requesting that the message be approved, and then forwarded to the Help Center.
  3. Follow-up with a call to the Help Center (404) 413-HELP (4357), to inform them that an email for immediate distribution has been sent, and to confirm that it has been received and is being processed.

  2. Send the message to the appropriate office (President, Provost, Vice President, or Director of University Relations), requesting that the message be approved, and then forwarded to the Help Center. NOTE: While the Vice President for Student Services should be notified of this communication, his or her approval is NOT REQUIRED for critical, time-sensitive system-wide messages.
  3. Follow-up with a call to the Help Center (404) 413-HELP (4357), to inform them that an email for immediate distribution has been sent, and to confirm that it has been received and is being processed.
