On-Campus Networks

Georgia State University offers wireless networking for your laptop/PDA in many campus locations.

Wireless Networking provides documentation about wireless networking and configuring your wireless device, a map showing the wireless locations on campus, the ability to download a client for our secure Virtual Private Network (VPN) and an FAQ and how to obtain assistance.

Anti-Virus Software

Even if you use a personal computer, whether it’s a PC or Mac, be sure to install the free Symantec (Norton) Anti-Virus software to protect it from hackers. This is required by policy for connecting your computer to the campus network (HousingNet in the dorms, the campus wireless network, a wired port in a classroom, the Aderhold Cyber Café, etc.).

Laptop connectivity and power are available in the Aderhold Building Cyber Café and in some of the Aderhold and Alpharetta Center classrooms.
