International Education Week is a joint U.S. Department of State and U.S. Department of Education initiative to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange. Colleges, universities, high schools, and organizations are encouraged to host events that celebrate global education and foster cross-cultural understanding. Founded in 2000, International Education Week is now celebrated in more than 100 countries (and counting!). Join Georgia State University in celebrating its international initiatives!

Did you know that 270,064 U.S. students studied abroad in Academic Year 2010? In Academic Year 2011, 723,277 international students studied in the U.S., with 15,359 in Georgia! For more information about International Education Week, please visit www.iew.state.gov.
