Deans
Deans play a critical role in the academic program review process. A unit's academic program review takes three years to complete. During the first year (the planning year) deans consult with unit heads to identify key issues to be addressed in the self study and to identify external reviewers. During the second year (the self study year) after review of the unit's self study and unit head's letter, the dean prepares a focused letter addressed to the external reviewers. During the third year (the action plan year) the dean reviews and consults with the unit and submits the unit's action plan to the Associate Provost for Institutional Effectiveness.
The information to assist deans in fulfillment of their responsibilities is located under this tab, including their responsibilities, timeline for APR, dates of site visits, guidelines for action plan development, and the Second Cycle Schedule.
The documents submitted by a unit currently undergoing review (the self study, appendix, and unit head's letter) may be found under the tab entitled: CURRENT REVIEWS. The documents for units that have previously been reviewed, may be found under the tab entitled: COMPLETED REVIEWS. These documents are ID and Password protected. If you need the ID and password, please contact the Associate Provost for Institutional Effectiveness via e-mail: lyonsp@gsu.edu or via phone: 404-413-2578.
