GSU presents the works of composer and filmmaker Kagel
Georgia State University's Center for International and Collaborative Arts (CENCIA) and the Alumni Association are presenting "Mauricio Kagel: Film Music, Music Performance, Performance Film" at 8 p.m. on Feb. 12 at the Florence Kopleff Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Neuroscientists show that a gas serves a physiological role in nervous system
Georgia State University scientists have found that the gas nitric oxide – an air pollutant found in cigarette smoke and automobile exhaust – is also produced in cells of the nervous system and serves physiological functions.

Art school to receive $4 million from namesake
Ernest G. Welch, the university’s oldest alumnus, died at 103 on Dec. 26, 2009. He and his late sister, Frances, left a significant portion of their estates to Georgia State’s School of Art and Design, totaling approximately $4 million.

Georgia State "Top Gainer" in minority graduation rates
Georgia State University is being touted as a national model for graduating minority and low-income students. Education Trust, announced this week that GSU boosted its minority graduation rate by 18.4 percentage points in last five years.
