Parents and families are considered extended members of the Georgia State community. At Incept, we have designed an orientation program that introduces and welcomes parents and family members to the Panther family. This program runs the length of the student’s day with sessions that are focused on the concerns and needs of parents, families, and guests. It is our intention that all guests and students will leave GSU with all the information and resources needed to be successful through the first year and beyond. We hope that you will stay active and take full advantage of the programs offered through Parent Relations and the Parents Association.
Parents and families are invited to programs happening in the summer and fall. Keep your eye out for more information coming about each of these events soon!
Held before the beginning of the fall semester, the Send-Off Social brings parents, families, and students back to campus for fun, food, and GSU trivia.
Mark your calendars for August 25, 2013 to attend Freshman Convocation. The formal event that welcomes new students to campus is held the Sunday before classes begin in the fall semester. Faculty and staff show their regalia and a recognized speaker will deliver the keynote address. This event is the kick-off for Panther Welcome, a two-week long grouping of events that give new students a taste of the GSU life. The whole Panther family is encouraged to attend Freshman Convocation.
