There is a registration fee for all Incept conferences that all freshman and transfer students, including those receiving HOPE scholarships, must pay. This fee covers the expense of meals, printed materials, and other administrative costs. There is a separate registration fee for parents, family, and guests and each student may register up to two guests.
There are four Incept conference formats at Georgia State. The same orientation information will be covered at all Incept conferences. Depending on your classification (freshman/transfer) and/or the time of year you are entering the University (i.e. fall, summer, spring) you will attend one of the conference options listed below.
This conference is a full day of orientation activities designed specifically for freshman students. Only freshman students and their guests will attend this orientation. Check-in begins at 7 a.m. and the conference will end at 5 p.m. See schedule for additional details.

The same format of a ONE DAY Incept will be used with an overnight component and additional activities added. Only freshman students and their guest will attend this orientation. Check-in begins at 9 a.m. and the conference ends at 4 p.m. on the second day.

This conference is a 1/2 day of orientation activities designed specifically for transfer students. Only transfer students and their guests will attend this orientation. The TRANSFER EXPRESS option will be offered for new transfer students entering the university during the fall and spring semester but not during the summer semester. Check-in begins at 7 a.m. and the conference ends at approximately noon.

This conference is a full day of orientation activities designed for those that are unable to attend a June or July freshman specific Incept conference. Also, new freshman students entering the university in the spring and summer semesters will attend a COMBINATION Incept conference. The COMBINATION format will include both freshmen and transfer students and will provide a basic orientation to the University. Check-in begins at 7 a.m. and the conference ends at 5 p.m.

Please be aware you will be charged for any Incept conference for which you have completed a registration (online or mail-in). To receive a refund after registering for an Incept conference, you must withdraw or cancel your registration at least THREE FULL business days prior to your scheduled conference date.
If you meet the three day withdrawal deadline, the refund will be credited to your student account. The money will NOT be credited directly back to your credit card or bank account.
This refund will then remain on your student account and be applied to any outstanding fees you may have when tuition and fees are due each enrollment cycle. If your tuition and fees are covered completely by other funds, the Incept refund will be mailed to your address on file when the office of Student Accounts distributes refund checks each enrollment cycle.
However, if you withdraw from Incept and do not attend Georgia State University, the Incept refund will be mailed to your address on file when the office of Student Accounts distributes refund checks each enrollment cycle.
If you withdraw or cancel less than THREE FULL business days prior to your scheduled conference date, there is NO refund. There are NO partial refunds. If you register for another Incept conference day, you will need to pay the full registration fee again.
