New Benefits Program: Auto and Home Insurance available to retirees through GSU January 1, 2013

Beginning January 1, 2013 retirees, faculty and staff will have the opportunity to enroll in Auto/Home Insurance through MetLife Insurance. Please see the flyer for current information, which includes quotes from MetLife, The Hartford, Safeco, Kemper and Progressive.

We will be following up by mid-December with a letter and email providing specific information for enrolling in this program through Georgia State University. We are excited to bring this program to you, our retirees, as well as the faculty and staff.

You will be able to enroll anytime throughout the year, this program is not specific to open enrollment deadlines.

    Please review this slide presentation for all new changes to your benefits for Plan Year 2012. You will also view a step by step process in how to find a doctor in our POS Open Access Network. Be sure you verify that your current doctor is in this system for 2012 or be prepared to pay 'out-of-network' rates and higher deductibles if you choose not to change a particular doctor.

Cost of Living Adjustment

Monthly Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits for nearly 62 million Americans will increase 1.7 percent in 2013.The 1.7 percent cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) will begin with benefits that more than 56 million Social Security beneficiaries receive in January 2013. Increased payments to more than 8 million SSI beneficiaries will begin on December 31, 2012.
