Good news regarding flu vaccines for this coming flu season
For employees enrolled in the Open Access POS plan, HSA Open Access POS plan or BlueChoice HMO, flu vaccines will be covered at 100% regardless of the place of service. Employees may go to their local pharmacy for their flu vaccine (i.e. Kroger, CVS, and Walgreens).
To be reimbursed, the employee will need to pay out-of-pocket at the point of service and fax a copy of their receipt and member ID card to the BCBSGa BOR dedicated fax line at 1-877-868-7950. A reimbursement check will be mailed to the employee’s home address on file at BCBSGa.
As always, if the employee goes to their doctor to get the flu vaccine, the claim will be filed for them and paid at 100%.
Employees enrolled in the Kaiser HMO must visit a Kaiser facility to get the flu vaccine covered at 100%. Flu shots at the local pharmacy will not be covered under the Kaiser HMO plan.
