Student Health Insurance Options

Mandatory Student Health Insurance

United Health Care will provide a Student Health Insurance program for the 2012 - 2013 year. The following groups of Georgia State University students are required to have health insurance.

  • Undergraduate and Graduate International Students holding “F” or “J” visa status
  • Graduate Students receiving Full-time tuition waivers
  • Graduate Students receiving fellowships that fully fund their tuition
  • Graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in programs that require proof of health insurance as determined by GSU.

Students who are covered under comparable insurance may waive out of the insurance requirement between Dec. 4, 2012 – Feb. 1, 2013 by going to http://studentcenter.uhcsr.com/gsu

Student Voluntary Health Insurance

A voluntary plan is available for those students not covered under the mandatory plan who are enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.  To purchase Student Health Insurance, please visit: http://www.uhcsr.com/gsu
