Each residence hall is staffed with a full-time live-in professional Residence Hall Director who serves as an excellent resource for residents by offering assistance in addressing any problems or concerns that arise. In charge of all operations, Residence Hall Directors also supervise graduate assistants who oversee programming initiatives in the hall and advise the residence hall student government, and to monitor compliance with University Housing policies.
In addition to Residence Hall Directors, we also have Graduate Assistants who make up part of our professional staff team. GA's are full time graduate students who share the leadership of the residence halls. They assist residents in Lifestyle Communities, advise hall council, respond to emergencies and assist with daily/nightly operations of the halls.
Additionally, undergraduate Resident Advisors (RA's) live on each floor and are responsible for serving as peer advisors for the residents. They are trained to identify residents' needs and to articulate residence concerns and, if necessary, directing them to the appropriate person(s) or resources. The primary role of an RA is to promote a community atmosphere through programming, to encourage resident involvement in hall activities and to assist residents in their adjustment to on-campus living.
