University Housing

Police (Georgia State University)

The Georgia State University Police are on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They patrol the grounds of the complex, including the parking decks and the hallways of the residential buildings on a regular basis. The Georgia State University Police are fully trained and commissioned police officers with full arresting authority.

The Georgia State University Police will assist residents with investigating crimes, vehicle trouble (locked out of car, dead battery, etc.), having a car towed from a parking space, escorts to and from MARTA, noise or disturbances in the public areas outside of the Georgia State University residence halls, and assisting with investigating criminal and suspicious activities.

The police also respond to all fire alarms at the Georgia State University residence halls. The police do not address noise within the buildings or lock out from rooms. For these services contact the RA on-duty for your building.

Everyone must do their part in securing the Georgia State University residence halls by not allowing tailgaters to follow you into the complex or building that you live in, locking your doors at all times and reporting unusual behaviors to the Georgia State University Police or RA immediately.
