Parking Procedures

Parking in the decks is a privilege for Georgia State University residents.

  1.  You must have a car to be issued a parking space.
  2. Parking hangtags are issued according to those spaces listed on the roster. Switching of parking spaces is not allowed without written permission from the housing office. Selling of your parking space to another Georgia State University resident is NOT allowed.
  3. Registration information must be completed on the information card.
  4. The parking permit must be displayed in your windshield hanging from your rear view mirror at all times. CARS WITHOUT PARKING HANGTAGS AND/OR CARS PARKED IN A SPACE OTHER THAN THE ONE ON THE HANGTAG WILL BE TOWED. Towing is at the owner's expense.
  5. You must park only in your assigned space. If someone is in your assigned space go immediately to the police in the North Deck and ask that the car be towed from your space. The police will tell you where to park in the meantime. If you park illegally without speaking directly to the police, you run the risk of being towed yourself. You must move your car into your assigned space as soon as the illegally parked car has been towed out of your space.
  6. You must have your access card at all times. If you misplace or lose your access card, you must come immediately to the Community Office and replace it. The replacement fee is $35. If the community desk  is closed, the police may let you into the deck.
  7. There is no visitor parking in the Georgia State University parking decks. All visitors should park in the public lots available or in a legal space on the street.
