As Georgia State University approaches its 100-year anniversary in 2013, the university each year recognizes a select group of the most accomplished student-scholars from across the state of Georgia and around the nation with Second Century Scholarships. Established to recruit the very best students in the nation to Georgia State and to support them throughout their studies, Second Century Scholarships will be awarded to those applicants for the freshmen class who have attained the highest academic accomplishments in high school. The minimum requirements to be considered for this award are a Freshman Index score of 3150 with a combined SAT score (math and verbal) of 1250 or ACT composite score of 28. No special application is necessary; these awards will be made as students are accepted into the university based on the students' admissions materials. Each Second Century Scholarship consists of a $3000/year cash award applied to a student’s account and the possibility of a University assistantship, a work study opportunity where students can earn up to $2500/year working in a department or office on campus. These awards are renewable for four years.
