Send a File

Overview

Send a File is a service for faculty and staff that makes it easy to send large e-mail attachments: 1 or more files that add up to 2 GB in size. While Microsoft Office 365 will only allow e-mail attachments that add up to 35 MB per message, Send a File allows you to send much larger files.

With Send a File, you can send multiple large files to multiple addresses. These files will be available for download for 10 days. Your recipients can download them as many times as needed during the 10 days.

Your Send a File account will also accept files from anyone else with e-mail access, anywhere in the world, using a feature called Dropbox. Recipients do not need to have a GSU account, only the URL of your Dropbox.

Requirements

  • You are faculty or staff at Georgia State
  • Your computer connected to the Internet
  • You know your GSU e-mail address (CampusID@gsu.edu) and CampusID password
NOTE: If you have forgotten your CampusID password, use the CampusID self-help system. If you still cannot resolve your issue, contact the IS& T Help Center via e-mail or phone (404-413-4357).
  • You have one or more files that you want to send via e-mail.
NOTE: Send a File won’t send a message that doesn’t have at least one attachment. In other words, it’s not for ordinary, everyday e-mail messages. It’s for shipping big files to people, simply and easily as sending an e-mail.
