Create a VPN connection-Vista

Windows Vista Users (32 bit only)

If you need the CISCO VPN Client installed, follow these instructions.   Uninstall any previous CISCO VPN Client installs before proceeding

• Click Start.
• Click All Programs.
• Click CISCO Systems VPN Client.
• Click Uninstall VPN Client.
• Click Yes in the uninstall confirmation window
• Click No when asked to delete existing connection profiles
• Click No when asked to erase existing CISCO certificates
• Click Yes to Reboot.

Download the CISCO IPSec Client Software

NOTE:  Before starting the install, close all programs as your system will auto-reboot after installation.

• At the Cisco VPN Client License Agreement for Vista scroll to the bottom of the page and click I Agree.
  Authentication and download should start in 5 seconds.
• In the Login window:
  

  • Type your CampusID and password.
  • Click OK.

• In File Download Security Warning, Save in:  Desktop.
• In Download Complete, click Close.
  Close the window.

Install the software:

• Right click VPNinstl and run as administrator.
• User Account Control window, click Allow I trust this program then OK.
• Your system will automatically reboot after installation.
• Log back into your system and continue to the Connect steps.

At your desktop, click Start>All Programs>CISCO Systems VPN Client.

• Click VPN Client.
• Double click applicable profile VPN Connection Entry.
• In the Login window:
  
  • Type your CampusID and password.
  • Click OK.
    You will be connected.

• Click the Lock icon in your Task bar.
• Click Disconnect.
  Close the window.
