Create a VPN connection-Windows 32-bit

Before Beginning:

Students: Know your CampusID and Password.
Faculty/Staff: Know your CampusID and Password.

 

Uninstall any Previously Installed Cisco VPN Client:

Uninstall any previous CISCO VPN Client installs before proceeding.

  • Click Start.
  • Click All Programs.
  • Click CISCO Systems VPN Client.
  • Click Uninstall VPN Client.
  • Click Yes in the uninstall confirmation window
  • Click No when asked to delete existing connection profiles
  • Click No when asked to erase existing CISCO certificates
  • Click Yes to Reboot.

Download the CISCO IPSec Client Software:

NOTE:  Before starting the install, close all programs as your system will auto-reboot after installation.

Step 1

  • Download the 32-bit VPN client
  • In the Login window:
    • Type your CampusID and password.
    • Click OK.
  • In File Download Security Warning, Save inDesktop.
  • In Download Complete, click Close.
    Close the window.

Step 2:

Install the software:

 

  • Double click the VPNinstl icon.
  • Winzip Self-Extractor window, click OK.
  • Your system will automatically reboot.
  • Log back into your system and continue to the Connect steps.

Connecting to Cisco VPN:

  • At your desktop, click Start>All Programs>CISCO Systems VPN Client.
  • Click VPN Client.
  • Double click applicable profile VPN Connection Entry.
  • In the Login window:
    • Type your CampusID and password.
    • Click OK.
      You will be connected.

Disconnect Your VPN Connection:

  • Click the Lock icon in your Task bar.
  • Click Disconnect.
    Close the window.
