Netserv1/Netserv3 Access is Down

Access to NETSERV1 and NETSERV3 is down. Error messages are...

- Login was unable to authenticate and will now try connecting as bindery.

- LOGIN-LGNWNT32.DLL-410: The supervisor has disabled the login function for this server.

Administrators have been notified and are working to resolve the issue. The problem will be resolved as soon as possible.

eTIME Service Pack Deployment

Please note:  An update to eTIME is going to be deployed tonight during the scheduled maintenance window.  This update fixes a number of known issues with eTIME. 

After the update is applied, the next time any of your eTIME users login, an update will automatically be downloaded to the JAR files used by JAVA.  This download happens without any user intervention.  This may result in an extended login time of up to 3 minutes while the system downloads the necessary update. The SSC will post an announcement on the portal today to alert all users.

Network Connectivity (Sparks Hall)

Sparks Hall is currently experiencing intermittent network connectivity. As a result, users in Sparks Hall may not be able to connect to the network or may received the error message: Tree or server can not be found. Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) is currently working to restore service as soon as possible and will continue to monitor the situation.

IP Telephones and Network Issues

Currently the IP Telephones and Network services interrupted by large packet loss on data network. As a result, users may experience temporary problems when attempting to make or receive calls and networking connectivity. Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) is working with the university's vendor to restore service as soon as possible and will continue to monitor the situation.

Student Email Problem

An error with Microsoft's servers regarding our students' PantherMail accounts has been discovered and is currently being addressed by Microsoft technicians. Student e-mail accounts affected by this error may experience problems access mail with PantherMail. We are working with Microsoft to ensure that no e-mail messages sent to your students have been lost, but some students may not be able to access them.

Georgia State staff has been in constant contact with Microsoft technicians to emphasize the serious nature of this problem and to relay our customer’s concerns. Currently, Microsoft projects that the PantherMail system should be fully restored by Wednesday, September 23 and all students should then be able to access their e-mail accounts. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and we will inform you when this problem has been fully corrected.

Netservs 2, 3, and 6 Down

IS&T is experiencing issues on Netserv 2, 3 and 6. Some users may not have access to their home directories and or their network drives. Technicians have been contacted and are working diligently to resolve the issue. Please contact the Help Center or login into helpdesk.gsu.edu with your CampusID/password to submit a support request as well as check the status of the issue.

VPN Upgrade on Thursday, September 10

Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) will upgrade the university's Virtual Private Network (VPN) servers on Thursday, September, 10, 2009, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. The campus VPN service will not be available during this time frame. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Phone Outage - No Dial Tone

IP Telephones service interrupted by large packet loss on data network.  Issue reported to data network, unofficial diagnosis - trouble related to a loop formed at the Student Center.  The Telecom issue is currently resolved.

Spectrum is Down
