System/Network Status Archive

Potential Difficulty Making and Receiving Telelphone Calls

Georgia State University's telephone system is currently experiencing a large volume of calls, during which campus users may have difficulty making and receiving telephone calls. If you attempt to place a call and hear a "fast busy" sound, please try the call again later.

Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) is working with the university’s telephone vendor to resolve this issue quickly and will provide the campus with more information as it becomes available.

Please remember that blue Emergency Call Boxes are located throughout campus for contacting campus police in the event of an emergency. For more information about these call boxes, visit http://www.gsu.edu/police/33378.html

Possible Brief Outages to Online Campus Systems Residing on Windows Servers 
Thursday, November 10, 2011 1:00 PM

Due to the release of an important security update for Windows servers, Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) must perform unscheduled maintenance to all campus Windows servers managed by IS&T. Maintenance will begin today, November 10, 2011 and continue through Sunday, November 13, 2011.

As we update each server, applications on that server will be unavailable. If you are unable to reach an online system for a brief duration, it may be due to this urgent maintenance. We will work as quickly as possible to minimize service disruption to campus systems and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Faculty, Staff, and Student E-mail is Down

The campus is currently experiencing network issues affecting faculty, staff, and student e-mail access. As a result; faculty, staff, and students are not be able to access their GSU e-mail or experiencing problems sending and receiving e-mails.

Information System and Technology (IS&T) is working with the university's vendor (Microsoft) to restore services as soon as possible and will continue to monitor the situation.

 Delayed E-mail (Office 365)

Some incoming e-mail, received between Friday, July 1 at 8 p.m. and Monday, July 4 at 11:30 p.m. is still being copied to the Office 365 e-mail system. This e-mail may not reach users mailboxes until this evening. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

GroupWise Schedule Maintenance 
Monday, May 13, 2010 10:00 AM

GroupWise will be unavailable Monday, May 16, 2011 from 10:00 PM until 11:00 PM. This one hour maintenance period will temporarily disrupt ALL GroupWise access. Users will not be able to access GroupWise in any way during this time. The purpose of this outage is to refresh GroupWise servers in preparation for Office 365.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask that you plan access requirements accordingly. If there are any concerns about this planned outage please call Help Center at 3-4357.

 IP Telephones Issues

Currently the IP Telephones services interrupted by a loop that generated in Library South. As a result, users are experiencing temporary problems when attempting to make or receive calls. Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) is currenlty working to restore service as soon as possible and will continue to monitor the situation.

 GroupWise Issue

The campus is currently experiencing intermittent GroupWise issues. As a result, some colleges and departments are having sporadic GroupWise performance issues. IS&T is investigating and working on resolving the issue.

Important Information Regarding Campus E-mail Service

Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) has been notified of an issue affecting external, outgoing campus e-mail messages. As a result, some of your campus e-mail sent to individuals outside of Georgia State University may "bounce back" (be returned as "undeliverable" and not delivered). This issue is due to other e-mail systems erroneously identifying messages from Georgia State e-mail addresses as spam. IS&T is working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. E-mail Fraud Alert - ADP EasyPayNet

Georgia State has been notified of a fraudulent e-mail message circulating that requests an "account confirmation procedure" appearing to come from ADP, our employee payroll and benefits system. This e-mail message referring to "ADP EasyPayNet Secure Access " is NOT valid and should be deleted if received.
