How do I request a new network connection?

  • Contact the IS&T Help Center by phone 404-413-HELP (4357) or e-mail at help@gsu.edu.
  • Have the following information available:
    • First & Last name of person making the request, phone number, Department, Email address, Building, Floor and Room number.
    • Building, floor and Room where the connection is required if different from requester.

Your order is forwarded to a network technician who will contact you to schedule a walk-through survey of the site. A Network work order is created with the work description, equipment list, and projected cost. The cost estimate is emailed to you for your authorization. Upon receipt of your authorization, your job is prioritized and scheduled.

Your Local Network Administrator (LNA) is often an excellent initial contact since many are familiar with the above procedures. Please check with your department's LNA prior to submitting a request.

There is a fee for this service. Please have your departmental Speed type noted in the authorization email.

How long will it take?
2-3 weeks if cabling is needed. 2-3 days if cabling is already in place.
