University Faculty Award for Undergraduate Research

 

GSURC Faculty Award Nomination 2012 Flier

The successful nominee for the Faculty Award for Undergraduate Research must be a full-time Georgia State faculty member with a demonstrated commitment to mentoring and supporting undergraduate students in research activities. Evidence of research collaboration with undergraduates, including co-authorship of conference presentations, and/or peer-reviewed publications, is strongly encouraged.

The award recipient will serve as the Keynote Speaker for the 2012 GSURC and receive $1,000.

Submission of all materials (nominations, as well as information from the nominee) must be received by Monday, February 6, 2012.

Nominations may come from any member of the Georgia State community. No more than two (2) nominations should be submitted for each candidate with at least one from a faculty member. Nominations should be sent in the form of an email message to gsurc@gsu.edu, with Faculty Nomination in the subject line, and with an attachment containing the following:
 

  • Name of nominator (person submitting letter), 
  • Contact information,
  • Relationship to nominee, and
  • A one page statement indicating what characteristics of the nominee show his or her commitment to and facilitation of undergraduate research.

The nominee must also submit an email to gsurc@gsu.edu with Faculty Nominee in the subject line and an attachment containing the following information:

  • Name of nominee,
  • Contact information,
  • A summary of his or her involvement with undergraduate research, including activities with undergraduate students,
  • Indications of the success of their undergraduate students’ research (e.g., presentations, awards, publications), and
  • Information on relevant accomplishments of past students post graduation (e.g., graduate school, relevant job placement)
  • A curriculum vitae.
