Office of Government and Community Affairs

The Office of Government and Community Affairs serves as the principal point of contact between Georgia State University and the legislative and executive branches of Georgia government, including the Georgia General Assembly, Office of the Governor, the University System of Georgia, and other relevant units of state government; informs the university community on local, state and federal government matters; and promotes partnerships between the university and surrounding communities.

Our work promotes advocacy and support to help Georgia State University achieve its goals and objectives. To accomplish its mission, the office oversees a wide variety of programs and activities to educate and involve diverse constituencies to enhance the image, reputation and recognition of Georgia State University.
