The GSU Student Outdoor Recreational Facility at 188 MLK, a 3.8 acre parcel with one and one-half athletic fields and an approx.26,000 sf building including basement, field and mezzanine levels.
Phase 1 included selective demolition of existing building, removal of debris, site preparation and installation of new utility work, earthwork and installation of new retaining walls, replacement with new sidewalks, street appurtenances and new parking areas, installation of irrigation systems to support new natural turf athletic (half) field, site drainage systems to support new synthetic turf athletic field as well as fencing, field lighting and field equipment.
Room functions include team lockers, showers, laundry, training, including hydro pools, team assembly and break out rooms, conference, mechanical, storage, roof replacement and clerestory, misc. improvements, etc.
The Petit Science Building is not only a state of the art research facility at Georgia State University but also a retail dining attraction.
