University Stewardship and Events

With a primary focus on external audiences, University Stewardship and Events creatively and effectively promotes the university and its unique programs and acknowledges philanthropic support while maintaining a consistent university image and message.

Stewardship

Stewardship is the process whereby an institution cares for and protects its philanthropic support in a way that reponds to donors’ expectations and respects the act of giving. University Stewardship & Events fosters ongoing communication between donors and the university through special acknowledgements, reports on endowments and the production of the Georgia State University Foundation Annual Report.

University Events

The department is also the central event-planning operation for the university, coordinating the development, design, planning and execution of several distinctive Georgia State University events throughout the year that recognize university achievement and donor dedication. Large-scale events include commencement ceremonies each semester, legislative events, groundbreakings and dedications, while lunches, dinners and other special recognition ceremonies are also organized throughout the year. Additionally, the department provides consultative services to other university departments.
