State Relations

The Office of State Relations develops and strengthens relationships between Georgia State University and government officials; ensures that the university's strategic goals receive state recognition and support; informs the university community on local, state and federal government matters; and serves as the official point of contact for governmental constituencies.

In fulfilling its role, the Office of State Relations seeks to:

  • Develop university policies for addressing government affairs
  • Mobilize alumni and friends to communicate university priorities with state legislators and government officials
  • Maximize university access to and influence in local, state and federal government
  • Provide an official point of contact for local, state and federal government officials
  • Recognize, monitor and influence legislation important to university goals and operations
  • Communicate important legislative news to the university and external community.
