Campus & Community Involvement
International students have many ways to get involved on campus and in the Atlanta community. For information about the international student clubs on campus, see the ISAC and BUDI program information below. Links to other involvement opportunities are listed on the right.
BUDI Program
The BUDI program partners international and American students together for cultural exchange and personal experience. At the beginning of the semester, you will be paired with an American student at Georgia State who is interested in meeting international students. Throughout the semester you and your BUDI will meet, participate in fun activities, and share cultures. This is a great way to practice English conversational skills, ask questions, and learn how Americans handle life at Georgia State! You can also share your country’s culture with your BUDI and encourage them to learn more about your home country and language. To join the program, just fill out and submit the BUDI application
.The International Student Associations Council (ISAC)
The INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ASSOCIATIONS COUNCIL (ISAC) is comprised of the presidents and officers of the 16 international student associations and meets regularly during the semester. The Council is assisted by the International Services staff in planning events of special interest not only for international students, but for the Georgia State community as well. They are your representatives on campus, and are here to help you in any way. Please contact the appropriate officer below if you want to join an association, need help, have an idea for an event, or want to know about current group events.
The 2007-2008 ISAC officers are:
President - Jamie Alberto, jalberto1@student.gsu.edu
Vice President - Mary Macaranas, mmacaranas1@student.gsu.edu
Secretary/Treasurer - Dhara Joshi, djoshi1@student.gsu.edu
