Georgia State ranks among the top schools in the nation in fostering economic opportunity for underserved students, according to the Social Mobility Index, a new rankings system. The index measures how well universities do in graduating lower-income students with lower debt. Georgia State ranks 50th in the nation in the rankings, which were compiled by CollegeNet, a higher education technology company, and Payscale, a data firm.

The graduate and undergraduate computer information system (CIS) programs in the Robinson College of Business are ranked in the top 10 in the nation. The undergraduate program is ranked eighth, and the graduate program is ranked 10th. The CIS Department has been ranked in the top 10 every year since 2005.
Georgia State is ranked 6th among “up and coming” national universities, 14th in racial and ethnic diversity and 14th in economic diversity.
Georgia State ranks 17 among up-and-coming universities for return on investment for students. “From faculty mentorship to peer tutoring, GSU is committed to bolstering the student’s academic experience and opportunity without significantly increasing the cost of education.”
