Coaching
Coaching gives the student a person to whom they can be accountable, someone who will assist them in finding the organizational structure which works best for them and who keeps them on-track once they’ve established such a system.
GSU’s Office of Disability Services employs a full-time Cognitive Disability Specialist to assist students to develop strategies to minimize the impact of the disability on their ability to learn. Such assistance can include: screening to determine predominant learning style, coaching intervention, instruction on use of mnemonic devices, individualized study skills training, and referral to other appropriate GSU services.
