A leading research university in Atlanta, Georgia

Welcome to the 2012 Cultural Competency Conference!

Greetings! It is my honor to invite you to participate in a dynamic and rich tradition at Georgia State University.  On April 12-13, 2012 we will be hosting the 5th Biennial Cultural Competency conference.  Our theme for this year’s conference, We are all connected: Claiming our identity as global citizens, healers, and educators. This theme reflects our effort, to continue the rich legacy of providing high quality multicultural training for mental health professionals, and to integrate a new track focused on cultural competency training for medical professionals and educators.

In addition to dynamic daytime speakers, this year's conference features an evening keynote by the world-renowned Deepak Chopra. Deepak Chopra is a leading authority in the field of mind-body healing and has been described as “a global force in the field of human empowerment.”  As the Director of Psychological and Health Services and a GSU alumnae, I look forward to welcoming you to our campus for this amazing professional growth and community building opportunity.  I truly believe you will leave feeling renewed and better able to serve in a global society because you were with us. We hope to see you there!
