Committees

The following committees have and will be instrumental in shaping the Critical Thinking through Writing (CTW) initiative as it is integrated into the major requirements. 

CTW Leadership Team

The CTW Leadership Team has been responsible for overseeing the CTW initiative and will be responsible for assisting departments in implementation and assessment processes.

Undergraduate Assessment Committee (formerly the General Education Subcommittee)

The Undergraduate Assessment Committee is a CAP subcommittee and was established in January 2007.  The committee has been given the following responsibilities:

  • To review and report on general education outcomes in the core curriculum;
  • To approve departmental QEP implementation plans;
  • To approve CTW courses;
  • To review and report on general education outcomes in the major, with a particular focus on Critical Thinking and Written Communication outcomes as targeted in the institutional Quality Enhancement Plan.

The committee is comprised of members from the all of the colleges with undergraduate majors and the positions are distributed as follows:

  • 5 from the College of Arts & Sciences
  • 3 from Robinson College of Business
  • 2 from the College of Health and Human Sciences
  • 1 from the College of Education
  • 1 from the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies
  • 2 from the Senate Committee on Academic Programs
  • 1 from the Senate Committee on Admissions and Standards
  • 2 student representatives
  • Director, CTL, ex officio
