Trauma Specialty Practicum
The Trauma Specialty Track practicum is an advanced level practicum that includes specialized training in the treatment of adult trauma survivors. Instructors for this practicum utilize an object relations perspective, and within this practicum, students will have an opportunity to learn about object relations theory and therapy - particularly how this approach applies to individuals with a history of physical, sexual, and/or emotional abuse. It should be noted that having an object relations/psychodynamic orientation is not a requirement and all other orientations are welcomed. This practicum carries a two-semester commitment beginning in August and ending in May of the following year. The instructors for the 2011-2012 practicum year are Dr. Melissa Alves and Dr. Kensa Gunter.
