Stipend and benefits
Full-time Postdoctoral fellows receive a stipend of $27,000 per annum. The position includes health insurance benefits, university holidays, vacation leave, sick leave, and library privileges. Fellows are also awarded an additional 5 days of professional leave in order to attend conferences, study for licensure, etc. As a result of annual and professional leave, the weekly assignment of duties is set as 44 hours a week for full-time employment in order for the postdoctoral fellow to accumulate the 2,000 total hours of training and clinical work.
Application process
Admission requirements include completion of all professional doctoral degree requirements from a regionally accredited institution of higher education or an APA/CPA-accredited program and an APA approved predoctoral internship. This is defined as having on the first day of the Fellowship either the diploma in hand or a letter from the Director of graduate studies verifying the completion of all degree requirements pending graduation. Previous counseling center experience is preferred.
Applications should include:
1) A letter of interest relating professional goals to the Georgia State University Post-doctoral program.
2) A current vita.
3) Official transcripts of graduate work, including documents which certify completion of doctoral requirements and internship.
4) Three letters of recommendation: one from the internship training director; one from the doctoral academic department; and one from a primary supervisor.
