The Georgia State University Counseling and Testing Center provides a wide range of counseling, testing, psychiatric, and holistic health services to support students as they work to reach their educational goals. Services include: Individual, couples, and group counseling, walk-in initial consultation to assess concerns, mind/body clinic with stress management consultation, consultation with board certified psychiatrists related to medication if needed, nutrition consultation, assessment and treatment of concerns related to substance use; testing for admissions and scoring of national, professional, and university tests; workshops and guest lectures on a range of psychological topics for the university community, and training for psychologists and psychiatrists. Our Doctoral Internship program is fully accredited by the American Psychological Association and our Post-doctoral fellowship in psychology is a member of APPIC. The Center also is a training site for the Emory University School of Medicine Psychiatry Fellowship and trains psychiatry fellows each year.
The Counseling and Testing Center's staff also provides assistance to faculty, administrators and staff in assisting students in distress, enhancing the learning process, and providing guest lectures for classes.
