David Hannah, M.A.

Joey is a pre-doctoral intern from the University of Florida’s Counseling Psychology doctoral program. He earned both his B.S. in psychology and M.S. in counseling psychology from the University of Florida. His professional interests include suicide prevention/intervention, crisis intervention, trauma, LGBTQIQ issues, interpersonal relationships, working with college populations, teaching and training/supervision. Joey’s therapeutic approach is grounded humanistic theories, but also integrates values from emotion-focused, cognitive, mindfulness, multicultural, interpersonal, and psychodynamic theories.

Alessandra Urbano

Alessandra is originally from New Haven, Connecticut and is currently a visiting pre-doctoral intern from the University of Georgia. Prior to arriving at Georgia State, Alessandra enjoyed studying in a variety of lively cities, including Richmond, VA; Valencia, Spain; and Boston, Massachusetts. Throughout her graduate training in counseling psychology, she worked in several settings including residential and outpatient eating disorder facilities, university counseling centers, and a community mental health center. She utilizes a relational, cognitive-behavioral, and process-oriented theoretical approach to promote new ways of understanding, relating, and behaving. She enjoys working with a wide array of mental health issues and has specific clinical interests in identity development, disordered eating, trauma, addiction, interpersonal relationship issues, and LGBTQ issues. Outside of the office Alessandra enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with friends and family in the northeast.

Liza Khalliev is a Pre-Doctoral Intern at the Counseling & Testing Center. She earned her B.A. degree in Psychology, with a Minor in Sociology, at Eastern Washington University. Liza continued her education at Argosy University in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she has earned an M.A. degree in Clinical Psychology and is currently working towards her Psy.D. degree in Clinical Psychology. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in Emotion Focused Theory, and her professional interests include diversity related issues, immigration and acculturation, and identity development.
