The Relaxation Room

The Relaxation Room is a self-paced environment designed to help students explore various resources for improving their emotional and physical health. The Relaxation Room currently features audio and video instruction on a variety of topics. Most of this material is experiential to enable one to follow along and practice the skills as they are being discussed. In addition, one can use biofeedback* equipment as well as our new state-of-the-art Massage Chair!

The Relaxation Room currently contains information and guided exercises on:

  • Breathing Exercises
  • Muscle Relaxation
  • Meditation
  • Relaxation Imagery / Relaxation Sounds
  • Guided Imagery
  • Health & Well Being
  • Sleep Issues
  • Food & Body Image

Please note that you will need a valid Georgia State University Student ID in order to reserve time in the relaxation room and check out equipment from the front reception desk.

*After an initial training session you can continue to use the Biofeedback equipment on your own in the Relaxation Room.  To sign up for a training session, call the Counseling and Testing Center at (404) 413-1640 or come by our office.
