Ph.D. Candidates
Ph.D. candidates should bring their hoods with them to the ceremony. Candidates may purchase hoods in the Georgia State University Bookstore with their regalia.
The hooding of all Ph.D. candidates will take place concurrently. Faculty members will be seated next to his or her candidate(s). President Patton will ask all Ph.D. candidates to stand and be recognized at their seats. He will then ask the faculty members to proceed with hooding each candidate for whom they are responsible.
Following the hooding, faculty members will be seated while each Ph.D. candidate's name is called. Candidates will process across the stage to be recognized and shake the President's hand. Be sure to apply to graduate with the Graduation Office or your name will not be recognized electronically at the ceremony.
Photographs of each candidate with his or her faculty member will be available immediately after the ceremony.
