Happy Chinese New (Y)Ear

On February 9, 2013, the GSU community was treated to a special musical feast at the Kopleff Recital Hall featuring the works of the award-winning Chinese-born American composer Lei Liang, whose music has been described as “hauntingly beautiful and sonically colorful” by The New York Times and as “far, far out of the ordinary, brilliantly original and inarguably gorgeous” by The Washington Post. This concert was brought to GSU through the collaborative efforts by several units at GSU: the Confucius Institute, the School of Music, and CENCIA. The event was made possible by generous grants from the Confucius Institute, CENCIA, and the Fulton County Arts and Culture Foundation. More than 200 guests attended the event.
