On September 17, 2011, the newly founded SECLA held its first conference on Chinese language teaching on the beautiful campus of the College of Charleston in South Carolina. The entire faculty and staff at GSU CI attended the day-long conference and exchanged ideas and experience with fellow Chinese teachers and researchers who attended the conference.
