I chose to attend Georgia State University because I love the city! I am a city girl and wanted to attend college right in the heart of it. Georgia State has so many activities and organizations that grabbed my attention, not to mention how amazing their on-campus housing is. The school had everything I was looking for.
Campus Activities and Organizations: Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority
Most Memorable Georgia State experience: Being in a Freshman Learning Community (FLC) my first year of college was definitely an amazing experience. It was such a great way to make an easy transition into college and allowed me to have lasting friendships. Overall, any moment with my sorority is what is most memorable to me during my time in college as well. I have made unforgettable bonds with sisters for a lifetime; and when I’m old, I know it is a time I will look back on and smile.
If you could be a cartoon character, who would you be and why? I would want to be Kim Possible. She was a fearless, smart, and independent woman. I have also always wanted red hair and she had the prettiest red hair.
Favorite Georgia State tradition: With the new addition of the Football team, going to the games is a great new tradition. I loved the first game tailgating with my friends and sitting in the Dome filled with thousands of fellow cheering students.
What advice would you give to incoming students? I would say to not be nervous coming to college and definitely join a Freshmen Learning Community in order to help with the transition to college and meet some great people. I would advise them to live on campus because it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and a great way to get to know new people and be involved in the university. Georgia State has numerous clubs, activities, and organizations that I would certainly recommend incoming students to get involved in and be a part of. Ultimately, don’t be afraid to open your eyes to new experiences and take advantage of the great things Georgia State has to offer.
After I graduate from Georgia State, I hope to first, backpack through Europe. Then I hope to move to New York and work my way into the fashion industry with a career as a buyer. Living in New York City would be my ultimate dream.
