The Early Childhood Department offers a Bachelor of Science in Education degree in Early Childhood Education. Major coursework is divided into three “blocks”—groups of classes taught during the same semester. Extensive field work throughout the program culminates in a full semester of student teaching. This is a full-time, day-time only program.

This guide is not a substitute for academic advisement — contact your advisement office if you have any questions about scheduling or about your degree requirements. Students may choose to attend a summer term to reduce their load during fall or spring semesters but still stay on track to graduate in four years.

Math 3050- Geometry and Spatial Sense (3), Math 3070- Introduction to Probability and Statistics (3) and Math 3090- Algebraic Concepts(3) should be taken during the summer session or as indicated. All required math courses must be completed prior to student teaching. It is the responsibility of the student to check with Math Department regarding the scheduling of these courses.
