NOTE: The B.S. in Urban Policy Studies program is being discontinued Fall semester 2007. Students interested in urban and policy studies are encouraged to explore the new B.S. in Public Policy options.

Urban Policy Studies is an interdisciplinary degree program that prepares students for life and work in a range of professions in metropolitan areas. Specializations include planning and economic development, public and nonprofit human resource management, public policy, and local government management. Urban Policy Studies majors learn to analyze the functioning of cities and suburbs, the roles of the public, private, and nonprofit sectors in this functioning, and the special importance of public policy in linking these sectors in metropolitan areas.

Suggested Schedule of Courses

This is a suggested 4-year schedule of courses based on degree requirements in the 2007-2008 Undergraduate Catalog.  This guide is not a substitute for academic advisement — contact your advisement office if you have any questions about scheduling or about your degree requirements.  Also see the Undergraduate Catalog for a complete list of requirements and electives to choose from.

Students may choose to attend a summer term to reduce their load during fall or spring semesters but still stay on track to graduate in four years.
