Departmental Copy Card
PantherCash Account vs. Departmental Copy Account
PantherCash is a debit account linked to your PantherCard I.D. You may designate funds from your departmental account (Green Card) or purchase card to be transferred to your PantherCash departmental copy account. The departmental account will be assigned a code number. The PantherCash account(s) may only be accessed by PantherCard holders to which a department has granted the privilege and provided the code number.
How is use of the PantherCash account controlled?
The value set-up in the copy account can only be accessed at the copy machines. A department may request that a PantherCard holder's privilege to the copy account be granted or revoked at any time by contacting the PantherCard Office. If a privilege is revoked, the cardholder will be unable to access the account even though he/she may still know the code number.
Quarterly statements will be mailed to departments which have opened a copy account(s) so that balances and use of the account may be monitored.
How do I open a PantherCash departmental copy account?
Please bring a memo signed by your department head, along with your departmental charge card (Green Card) or Purchase Card (Pcard) and a list of cardholders to who you would like to grant account privileges. Please be sure that the list of cardholders includes each person's PantherCard number. The reference number begins with "601_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _"
When and Where can I open a PantherCash account?
PantherCash accounts may be opened at the PantherCard Office (200 University Bookstore Building) anytime during normal business hours.
When classes are in session: Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. During semester breaks: Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.
How do I add value to my PantherCash account?
You may add value to your account using the departmental Green Card or Purchase Card by visiting the PantherCard Office during normal business hours or calling 404-413-9508
Restrictions on using the departmental copy funds once they have been transferred into a PantherCash account:
Any funds transferred into a PantherCash departmental copy account may only be used for copying.
Due to Federal banking regulations, the funds may not be withdrawn and may not be transferred to any other departmental account. Once the funds are in a PantherCash account, they must remain in the account until used.
Where are PantherCash departmental copy accounts accepted?
Once the PantherCash departmental account is opened, take your PantherCard to the designated copy or microfiche machines in the 3rd Floor Pullen Copy Center, the Law Library or the Aderhold Learning Center 4th Floor Workroom, and follow the directions for use.
Over-the-counter services such as bulk copying, folding, cutting, binding, etc., may be brought to the Print Shop. The Print Shop is located on the Parking Level of the Urban Life Center and is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work can be completed from originals or from disk. For more information visit the Print Shop. (Please note: Departmental Copy Cards are not accepted at Print Shop.)
What are additional benefits to PantherCash?
Since PantherCash is linked to your PantherCard, you do not need a separate copy card.
If your PantherCard is lost or stolen, the PantherCash departmental copy account cannot be accessed without the code number.
If the University should change copy service contractors, the new contractor would be required to use PantherCash as the copy card system. With this requirement, cardholders will be able to continue using the copy machines without having to transfer remaining balances to a new system.
