PantherCard
What is the PantherCard?
The PantherCard is the official Georgia State University identification card which is used for identification, library privileges, after hours access to facilities, and a debit card (PantherCash and PantherMeals) for services on campus.
Who is eligible?
The PantherCard is available to all Georgia State University students, faculty, staff, and affiliates. In order to receive a PantherCard, you must present a picture ID at the time of application.
For currently registered students, cards may be obtained by visiting a PantherCard location. Faculty and staff PantherCards may be obtained at a PantherCard location approximately 2 business days after all Human Resources paperwork has been processed. For faculty/staff, privilege(s) are valid for the entire academic year, unless otherwise specified.
Maintenance of the PantherCard
Treat your PantherCard as you would any bank issued credit or debit card. Keep your PantherCard away from all magnetic fields that may damage the card. Do not punch holes, bend, scratch or in any way damage the card.
Terms and Conditions
1. Use of the PantherCard
(a) The cardholder agrees that the PantherCard is the property of Georgia State University and University reserves the right to request that a cardholder surrender the PantherCard at any time.
(b) You must present your PantherCard at the time of use to obtain services. The card is nontransferable; any misuse or illegal transaction may result in privilege suspension and/or fines.
2. Information Verification
(a) Verification of card issuance data (i.e. name and classification) is the sole responsibility of the cardholder. If any part of this data is incorrect, the individual must contact in person either the Registrar's Office (students) or Human Resources (faculty/staff) to correct the data.
(b) Any corrections needed after the card has been issued will require a replacement fee by the individual.
3. Card Ownership
(a) Possession of a University ID is a privilege for students, faculty, staff and affiliates. Ownership of the ID remains with the University upon withdrawal or termination from University.
(b) Misuse of the PantherCard warrants it's confiscation by the University and /or disciplinary action as deemed appropriate by the University.
Misuse includes, but is not limited to:
- Possession and/or use of ID by another person.
- Cardholder transfer of ID to another individual with the intent to allow access to owner's privileges.
- Tampering with ID to alter identification information.
- Fraudulent use.
Policy Changes
The user understands the PantherCard is nontransferable and agrees to abide by all the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures specified by the University and PantherCard Office. Future changes in terms and conditions regulating use of this card will apply to all cards in circulation and use at that time and will supersede the terms and conditions in effect at the time the card was acquired.
The University reserves the right to change any of the aforementioned policies without notice.
What if I need my card replaced?
Immediately report the lost or stolen card in person at the PantherCard Office or contact us at 404-413-9508 during hours of operation. After hours, report the lost or stolen card to the Georgia State University Police at 404-413-2100. Return to the PantherCard Office the following business day to receive a new card. The owner of the card is responsible for all usage of the card prior to proper notification to the PantherCard office or to the Georgia State University Police. There is a fee of $10.00 for all replacement cards; payment must be made at the PantherCard Office in order that the PantherCard can be reissued.
