About

The Digital Aquarium is an open access multimedia computer lab, providing students with access to the latest high-end workstations equipped with the multimedia production tools needed to allow students to enhance their coursework with multimedia. All Georgia State University students can use the Digital Aquarium, regardless of their academic major.

The Digital Aquarium includes twenty workstations, large format color printers, a plasma screen for workshops, a library of manuals and training videos, and a gallery for exhibiting exceptional student work. Additional workstations provide access to scanning equipment and allow groups of students to work together on collaborative projects. Students can also checkout laptops for use within the Student Center.

A sound room equipped with ProTools ® allows users to record and edit audio in an insulated, professional environment. Software packages include 3D, video, audio, design and animation tools that allow students to develop interactive media, web sites and virtual worlds.

The Aquarium is an ideal facility for working on inter-disciplinary projects. The adjacent conference room offers wireless and wired networks for laptop connectivity, an overhead digital projector and a projection screen create an ideal presentation and workgroup area. The conference room can also be used as a presentation practice area.

The Digital Aquarium is a joint venture between University Educational Technology Services (UETS), the Student Center and the Student Government Association.
