Advancement of Women

About

The goal of the Advancement of Women office (AofW) is to enhance collective efforts to improve the status of women at Georgia State University. Its mission is to provide information on the status of women and to assist unit/college/university administrators in their development, adoption, and implementation of policies, procedures, and programs that advance female faculty and staff into senior ranks and senior leadership positions. Activities undertaken by the Advancement of Women Office are coordinated by a Senior Faculty Associate, selected by the Provost, who devotes half of her time to the office. Two steering committees, one for faculty and one for staff, assist the Advancement of Women Office in establishing its priorities, programs, and policies. Two sub-committees, one for the Leadership Academy and Staff Mentorship, assist the AofW in accomplishment of its goals.
