The Special Collections and Archives of Georgia State University Library collects and preserves unique and rare historical materials in selected subject areas. The department promotes the use of these materials by the Georgia State University community, scholars and the public. Its goal is to advance scholarship and to further the educational, research and service missions of the university.
The eight curatorial areas are: Southern Labor Archives, Popular Music and Culture Collection, Women’s Collections, Georgia Government Documentation Project, Social Change Collection, University Archives, Rare Books, and Photographic Collections. Many of these collections are digitized and available online. Check before visiting our location or contact an archivist for further information.
