Event Description:
Alison Norsworthy, associate director of the College of Education’s Educational Research Bureau, will lead a faculty panel entitled, “Differences in Agencies: What I Need to Know About IES, NSF and NIH,” on Oct. 9 as part of the Professional Development Wednesdays Speaker Series.

Norsworthy and a faculty panel will discuss the major differences in three federal funding agencies: the Institute of Education Sciences, the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health. The faculty panel will give insight on the agencies from the standpoint of an applicant and a reviewer.

The speaker series is coordinated by Susan Ogletree through the Educational Research Bureau and in collaboration with Joyce Many, associate dean of undergraduate studies and educator preparation; Steve Harmon, chair of the Learning Technologies Division; and with input from College of Education Interim Dean Paul Alberto and chairs of the College of Education’s six departments.

Professional Development Wednesdays are held at 12 noon (unless otherwise noted) in the College of Education Forum, room 1030. Information about the speakers is available to the general public on the college’s website at http://education.gsu.edu and all presentations will be available for download at iTunes U.
